Welcome to Camp Discovery
Welcome to the website of Camp Discovery! Camp Discovery serves people with disabilities who want to experience the wonders of summer camp.
As with any venture such as this, there are two great needs to make for a successful Camp Season: campers and sponsors. We are in need of both as the 2012 season begins to be mapped out.
If you know of a person with special needs interested in having a life affirming experience at our camp, please direct them to our application posted on the website or have them contact Paul Ottinger at 615-556-3887 for more information.
If you understand the need for facilities such as ours and would like to help sponsor a camper, please contact Paul Ottinger at 615-556-3887 or email: executivedirector@jayceecamp.org for more information. The cost to attend Camp is $395 (stayover weekend $250). Many of our campers could not attend camp without assistance from gratious people such as you, so please consider helping make the dreams of our campers come true.
Our motto is "Everyone deserves to go to Summer Camp...regardless of ability," and we need your help to make this happen. Please help us make the 29th year of Camp Discovery a success.
About Camp Discovery
Camp Discovery is a project of the Tennessee Jaycees and the Tennessee Jaycee Foundation, Inc.. The Jaycees have been providing summer camping opportunities for people with disabilities for many years now. During the last 28 years, we have come a long way in developing and updating our camp to meet the needs of our campers. Camp Discovery is always striving to provide the best camping experience possible.
Camp Discovery is located on the Flynn's Creek area of Cordell Hull Lake in Jackson County, Tennessee. Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills approximately midway between Nashville and Knoxville, our camp facilities spread across a beautiful 186 acres, which run adjacent to Cordell Hull Lake. The surrounding land is undeveloped and remains a sanctuary to local plant and wildlife.
